Medical Bracelets

This is not the greatest photo, but I wanted to share this with my LW family. I have procrastinated getting a medic bracelet for years now and have multiple reasons why it is responsible to have one. An old friend who is a Emergency Medical Technician in his free time recently pushed me over the edge to take action. I'm sharing as I'm pleased with what I found. There are numerous sites on the internet if you just do a search in "google" and you can order and engraved personalized plate or tag. There are various ones for men and women alike, but what I found pleasing was the replacement bracelets in which you can switch off different bands. They are much nicer than they used to be and can be sized perfectly to your individual wrist. I just thought this might be helpful for someone else here.

Ya know, I too have procrastinated in getting
a bracelet, probably because I need one with
charms or something on it so I can add all
my diagnosis along with my allergies to meds.
hahahahahahaa.

You didn't happen to see any with charms or
multiple tags on them did ya? Think I will do
a search for them!!

Hi Coach Marla,
You know, I had my name engraved on the front of the bracelet place and there was actually room for 4 lines on the back for diagnosis'. I have such a long list of drug allergies, so I stated "drug alleries" on one of the lines and "see info in wallet." LOL.....but truthfully, my EMT friend said that they actually DO first look for medic bracelets and then definately check wallets. So, I have finally typed out all my med allergies, current doctors and treatment plans, contact numbers, ect. and put it in my wallet. Anyways, yes, you can definately find ones with extra charms but that's how I handled it. At least I'm finally organized in one area of life.......ha....now to work on the long list of the rest!
By the way, ebay has quite a few women who make the replacement bracelets for even cheaper than the medic bracelets sites, so have fun with it.

Oh cool, that is so good to
know that the EMT's really
do check!! My little brother
is an EMT here and has said
that they check both wallets,
and necklace/bracelet, etc.,
but I didn't believe him....he
has told some whoppers in
his day, and I don't give him
much credit....but now, I will
eat my thoughts and give
credit where credit is due!!

I will soooooo check out eBay
and see what I can come up
with. I been thinking that a cute
chain with some cutie charms
hanging off it would be something
that most "girly-girls" like myself
wouldn't mind wearing all the time.
If ya know what I mean....hahahahaa.

Anyway, I so appreciate you sharing
this with us all....I am gonna be a
checkin bout some of them there
charm thingy's and wil be sure and
let ya's know what I find out.

Guess what I found???? =)
I found a website that has some
of the cutest bracelets on it, and
they are all medical id bracelets.

They not only have the wrist bracelets,
they have the ankle bracelets, they have
the necklaces, they have mens, they
have womens, they have kids. It's ALL
there and it REALLY makes it tough
to decide on which one, or two, or three,
no no, just one....to choose. =)

Hi Marla,

Yes, that is one of the sites that has the most to pick from--and beautiful as well!

After my first bracelet with the traditional tag I found a women on ebay that sells the replacements bands at: [e-mail]. She handcrafts them herself and very inexpensively. I have a very tiny wrist (actually like a child size,) but she was able to downsize some of the womens ones for me. She also makes them up for individuals according to their suggestions. I just received another one today that she made for me to match some earrings I purchased from her and very inexpensively. I tend to like plainer jewelry and really more "earthy" than what you see in the photo--so this set is made out of brown wooden beads and the earrings are long--kind of bohemian looking. You can look her up on ebay as her business is "Distinctively Yours"--I have no vested interest in this and am just dropping her name in order that you/someone else might like to save money or purchase an assortment inexpensively.
