Oh Miriam, I joke about hibernating in the winter months too, as we really slow down here and spend a lot of time at home. I do a lot of that due to my autoimmune condition making me more suseptible to illnesses, but am attempting to enjoy it as m...

Autumn Blessings

I pray, I give thanks and count. It’s another day aching in and I pull the covers up for a few more minutes. I don’t know any other way to combat this–the tears and fears that some times accompany chronic illness, that illness that will never ever go away. S-j-o-g-r-e-n-‘s. I actually have to spell… Continue

It's Christ Who Strengthens Me

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” came to mind as I tried to sit still with another bad drug reaction. No matter how hard I try to live this or any good, I cannot do it on my own strength. It is in this earthly vessel, the weakest of the weaklings and a coward really, he makes himself known to me. How shocking really. He gives me strength I could not have on my own. It’s about abundance-to still be here. I don’t know what each day will bring, but I know the Lover of my Soul… Continue

Hope

This was a poem from my blog that I wrote about a year ago during a time of difficulty. It felt like a darker, quiet time, yet I knew God was so very present with me. Today, standing by my favorite old wooden fence I was gazing at the open field and praying as I often do there. When I opened my eyes, a "wish" from a nearby dry milk weed pod blew by and reminded me of that time and poem. I thought deeply of God's provision and faithfulness to me this past year and thought I would share it… Continue

Twenty Four Years Ago Today

Twenty Four Years Ago Today
It’s July twentieth again.

It’s our anniversary and God gifts us with another year.
He does what we cannot do ourselves.

Sweet River

I scampered across the stream from rock to rock forgetting myself, my age, my some times funny balance problems. It happens, this adult turns to child out there; there in the green with the water bubbling and the sun and shade playing games too. Resting for a while, I’m thor… Continue

Hello Friend Jan,
I am feeling much better, more energy, and the hot flashes are gone. Now I need to work on the blood sugar and losing weight. Thank thee so much for the birthday wishes and for being such a great fFriend! I am very glad too that our paths met on QFF. I just got a thank you letter from The Bucks county coordinator for the Bible study I have been facilitating at our Meeting. I know it is the Lord's doing and I feel very happy about how much people are being blessed. I have been acting convener for the peace and social concerns commitee and it looks like I will have that job for a year, since the the person who was convening has stepped down. Here I go rambling again, but I don't write like I used to due to school. It will all be over for this semester on 12th month 14 at 10am. God bless thee Friend, thee is always in my prayers!

My Precious JanLyn,

Well, I am back from what seems to have been a very long unexpected hiatus of sorts. Unfortunately, I spent part of it in bed with what turned out to only be a virus - but a yukki one to be sure. Then we had trouble with making the move to the smaller apartment and had to settle on staying in the one we are in only to find we were without telephone and Internet service for a week due to my changing the transfer. So aaanywaaays, it is so good to be back. I am having such a wonderful time clicking around here seeing all the discussion that took place while I was out. I just had to stop by here to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your WELCOME notes to the new people that in someways resembled mine from past welcomes giving some hints about the main page and reminding them to read the community rules. You are an amazing woman and friend JanLyn and I am so grateful the Lord has lead you here so that I could know you. Your natural leadership, spiritual wisdom, and gift of honest friendship has taught me so much. I am truly grateful!

I bless you in the Name of the Lord my dear friend! Praying your day is full of the Joy only He can bring!

Thank you Jan for the warm welcome. I have been looking for such a place as this for a long time.

I like your picture of the autumn leaves. Isn't it just like God to leave His artwork lying all around like that?

I look forward to being in this group with you.

Hi Jan Lyn.....do hope things are good these days and continuing to improve healthwise with you my friend.
Thanks for leaving me a picture - which I guess is one of YOUR trees - oh such colors! I just love autumn colors but it can be a fairly short season here - the wind and rain strips the leaves pretty quickly. We did have a couple of good weeks when the leaves started to fall - I love to walk and feel and hear the crunch of dry leaves underfoot. What a master planner our Father is to have given us such variety in our seasons - such contrasts of colors - and each season special in its own way.
I'm leaving you a picture of the river which runs through our town (River Bann) in autumn / winter. Love and blessings to you Jan Lyn.
I do have to say.......
that Cookie Dog down below is more like Spookie Dog!

Thanks to thee and Dave for holding me in the Light. Friday afternoon I got a call from the insurance company saying I was denied because they faxed the Doc's office and got no reply. I told the rep that I would contact the Doctor and get him to answer their questions because I really needed the prescription. The rep gave me my case number and phone number so I could relay it to the Doctor. I called my Doctor's offics at 4:20pm and they were closed. (Sigh) I will have to wait until Monday to call and give them the information and hopfully this will be settled and I can get my medications early next week. God bless thee and thy family friend Jan!

LEARNING TO ABIDE IN HIM

John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart [...]

DISTRACTED by Chronic Pain

1 Corinthians 1 Paul refers to Jesus Christ nine times in the first nine verses. We are correctly focused when we can say from the depths of our being, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21, ESV), and that our determined purpose in life is “that I may [...]
