Hi Justin, I'm so sorry for your mother's pain, but that is such a great testimony and wonderful story to think that you were really motivated and inspired by your mother's life to take up that cause. It just kind of restores my hope when I hear som…

It really is a shame that it has to come down to that in order for people to believe. How did you feel when nobody believed that you were in pain I can only imagine how frustrating it would be

About You:
Son of a chronic pain sufferer, my mom motivated me to find a job in the world of chronic pain treatment. I am currently working for Bay Recovery Center in San Diego California

I work public relations for Bay Recovery Center in San Diego Ca. We are a chronic pain / chemical dependency treatment center and have helped to treat thousands of people with chronic pain. My mother has been suffering from chronic pain for years due to back problems that she has had since a child. I could not believe the way that my mother was treated by some of the doctors she had gone to see. It seems as though chronic pain sufferers are automatically labeled as "drug addicts" when really all they are trying to do is control their pain. My mother finally found a doctor who understood her situation and helped her to manage her chronic pain. After seeing this I knew that I wanted to help others like my mom and decided to start working for the doctor who helped turn my moms life around.
What chronic condition(s) are you diagnosed with?
none

Just wanted to stop by to welcome you here Justin.
I am glad you are now apart of Living Whole.
I hope that you are finding what you need and are making some new friends. It's nice to have someone with a different perpective around here, i grew up with chronic pain so it's nice to see what it's like for someone who takes care of someone who has chronic pain.

Well Justin, i pray that God blesses you richly in your journey into helping work with that doctor who helped your mother. We need more compassionate people who understand. Thanks.

Hi Justin,
Welcome to LW!! I am glad you found us!! I am touched by your compassionate heart!! I often wonder how differently the lives of my children would have turned out if my health had taken a different path. Being the major bread winner for a family of 7 I often worked 70 + hrs a week. I asked God to find a way for me to be with my children at home, when they went thru their teen yrs, He did. I wish I had been a little more specific in my request, lol, had'nt meant to end up in pain to do it!! But God does know indeed what we need!!
Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Hello Justin,

I'm really glad to see that you joined in at Living Whole. We love getting new members around here and I found it really interesting to read you are working for a Recovery Center. I'd love to hear more about that and the journey of having a mom that motivated you in that due to her own chronic pain. I'm a mother of 3 kids and often wonder how my illnesses will affect their lives. I'm grateful that you are not suffering yourself and I'm looking forward to the unique perspective you might bring here to us.
In Friendship,
Jan Lyn
