From THE TRAVELOR'S GIFT by Andy Andrews

I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit. I will forgive even those who do not ask for forgiveness.
Many are the times when I have seethed in anger at a word or deed thrown into my life by an unthinking or uncaring person. I have wasted valuable hours imagining revenge or confrontation... I will now and forever-more silently offer my forgiveness even to those who do not see that they need it. By the act of forgiving, I am no longer consumed by unproductive thoughts. I give up my bitterness. I am content in my soul and effective again with my fellowman.
I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit. I will forgive those who criticize me unjustly.
Knowing that slavery in any form is wrong, I also know that the person who lives a life according to the opinion of others is a slave. I am not a slave. I have chosen my counsel... I now know that criticism is part of the price paid for leaping past mediocrity.
I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit. I will forgive myself.
For many years, my greatest enemy has been myself. Every mistake, every miscalculation, every stumble I made has been replayed again and again in my mind. Every broken promise, every day wasted, every goal not reached has compounded the disgust I feel for the lack of achievement in my life...
I realize today that it is impossible to fight an enemy living in my head. By forgiving myself, I erase the doubts, fears, and frustration that have kept my past in the present. From this day forward, my history will cease to control my destiny. I have forgiven myself. My life has just begun.

Time to Hibernate

This time of year when the snow starts falling, I often joke with family and friends that it is time for me to go into hibernation. But as I think more about it this year, it is becoming less of a joke and more of a reality. Bears and other animals that hibernate build up the food stores ahead of time to prepare for the winter and then find a nice cozy place to spend the winter where they can be protected from the harshness of the winter. Maybe we need to take a lesson from the bear. There are t… Continue

My Reading Circle

I just wanted to share with my LW friends. I had the first meeting for my reading circle tonight. There were 5 of us there and everyone said that they enjoyed it and are glad we started it. I think that means it was successful. Since you know my love of reading, I am extremely pleased. Looking forward to future circle meetings. God is so good.

Wonderful Idea for Christmas

The organic teas that are in the LW Book store come in packages of 6 boxes. Great to order a couple and use for Christmas gifts. I am planning on making some baskets as gifts and I thought organic teas would be a good way to share something healthy. I will take a picture when I have them finished.

Hi Miriam,

Thanks for the b-day note and wishes though its not quite my b-day yet. I think there was a mixup but that's okay, I am sure enjoying my un-birthday today!

It is a beautiful cold clear fall day here and I love it. I hope you are doing well and having a good day too!

Patti

Hi Miriam - just thinking that I haven't seen you around for a few days - I guess it's the weekend and you have other things on - I know not so many folks are around LW at weekends. Anyhow, just hoping things are good with you and hope to see you around during the week.
Love and blessings. Linda x

Hi Miriam,
I just stopped in during the quiet of my late evening here and saw your prayer request for your brother, Richard, as well. Just wanting you to know that I am sending prayers up for him while sitting at your page tonight. May you all be blessed by the Comforter and the knowledge that He never leaves us or forsakes us.
Take care, dear one.
Love,
Jan Lyn

Just been in LW tonight and found your prayer request for your brother awaiting me in the praying hands group and wanted you to know that he is being placed into our powerful loving Savior's arms. I know the heartache to watch beloved family members in situations that are out of our control. I'm just so thankful for Our God who is concerned with our hearts prayers and desires to heal.

Heavenly Father –
I come on behalf of Miriam to place Richard at the feet of the cross and stand in agreement with the Holy Spirit that Your healing touch is being placed upon his muscular dystrophy, heart and his coronary arteries. You are the master and creator of his body and I know your promises of healing. I speak over him Your blessings of PEACE to still these issues in this body that you desire to be well. I thank you for your Presence and pray that he is able to receive you now during this time. I pray that the spirit of wisdom and revelation wash over him to help bring hope and understanding of the depth of what you need him to see and learn from this. I thank you for Your powerful protection over your child, his emotions and body as you strengthen him with endurance during this time of his weakness. Thank you for Your will to be done, thank you that you know how this will be perfectly orchestrated so that in the end only your glory will be recognized.

Protect him from Satan’s unseen spiritual attacks on his mind and body. Father God, Satan means this for evil but you are bringing about your goodness. Send your angels to guard over him, I thank you for preparing the doctor’s appointment in wisdom and guiding the doctors tomorrow so that they will be lead by the Holy Spirit.

I pray this in Jesus powerful name, AMEN!

Miriam, I believe God will not forsake your brother or leave him. Hold fast to God’s promises of health for your brother. God’s love will be seen through all of this.

With much love - Joy

Hi Miriam...I'm just stopping by to explain my disappearance today LOL :) I had just said 'Hi' to you all when my computer went into update configuraton and bombed me out. I had just got in from work and would usually have a nap then but came into LW to check out your recipe for dinner. Anyhow, the new chat page puts us 'online' and I didn't want to just go 'offline', but I wouldn't have been stopping for long anyhow. Well, when that happened I took Jessie (dog) and we snuggled up together on the settee - had a real cosy time together until time to make dinner. And......we had your dish 'with no name'. We both really enjoyed it and I know I will make it again - I put a generaous layer of cheese on top.....mmm...mmm!!! Just imagine...I am making a dish for dinner that you are making in Ohio :) Thanks for sharing the recipe Miriam.
Love to you and hope things are good with you this week.

You have been a faithful friend to me. Your loving little notes on my page do not go unoticed and I appreciate the Godly woman that you are. I just spent a long time writing a comment on Linda's page and i think i wore myself out and need to go lay down. I want to share more but I will have to do it another time. In the meantime i just wanted you to know that Your sweet encouragement is placed within my heart and i will keep it with me tonight. It helps in these sleepless nights to know that I have sweet friends who care deeply to the point of placing me at the feet of Christ in prayer.

Your in my prayers tonight too Miriam, I will try to get to one of the chats this week to catch up with you. Love you BIG - Joy

LEARNING TO ABIDE IN HIM

John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart [...]

DISTRACTED by Chronic Pain

1 Corinthians 1 Paul refers to Jesus Christ nine times in the first nine verses. We are correctly focused when we can say from the depths of our being, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21, ESV), and that our determined purpose in life is “that I may [...]
