Discovering my Allergy to Wheat, Part One

Joy, I would be happy to help you out! One in 132 people are gluten sensitive!!! The solution is simple. Go on a Gluten-Free diet. Within a week you will know! Go to www.celiac.com. Print a list of what you can eat, and what you can't eat. Keep it with you during this week. Real every label because wheat can be hidden where you don't think it would be. Also, it can be used as a filler in medications. I recommend the book "The Gluten-Free Bible". You can be gluten-sensitive and not have full blow… Continue

Hello Rita,

I haven't been here for a while either. Have been worring about coming back because of that. Then, when the page opened, there were the same loving people that I had remembered! Mental...fibro fog....just plain ridiculous, I have no idea. OK...so I'm not well yet but, I'm walking with my King and laying everything at His feet. When we are on the throne too long (while trying to fix ourselves), that alone can cause physical
problems. When I finally jumped down...I litterly felt the weight lifted. Let us all remember that 'by His stripes...we are healed!

In His Love,
Disa

Oh Rita - if only i could attend 'Salado's Got Talent!'. I live in MN so it's not possible but in my heart I will be there, I promise! WOuld you let me know how it went, if at all take some pictures so I can see. It just sounds like a blast to go and see. Besides that, i watched America's got talent and saw Daniel Jans. I liked his singing.

Anyways, i'm really looking into this celiac thing. Getting some good info. cutting out bread right now completely. It's hard and i goofed up today and had a sandwich but i have been dealing with low cramps that are very painful that i've just been wanting to get out of my skin. I've been kinda hard on myself for eating that bread today but i didn't have a choice as i was hungry and there wasn't anything else at the time to eat as I am not able to get to the store till tomorrow.

Anyways, I am waiting from the Library to check out the gluten free bible. It seems to be popular right now.

Talk with you later my sister in Christ,
Hugs and love to you -
Joy

WELCOME! WELCOME! WELCOME!
I'm so glad you are here and are now apart of our Living Whole family. God brought you here on purpose and i'm glad that He did. I hope that you are making yourself at home and finding new friends here. I have been here since August of last year and it has become a part of my life with long lasting friends/sister in Christ that i wouldn't of met otherwise.

I happen to have Fibromyalgia but i have been struggling with IBS but now i'm wondering if it might just be celiac. I have been haven't difficulty getting a dignoses myself. I was wondering if i could ask you about your struggles with it and how you got to your dignoses. WHat are some of the things you deal with? And now that you know, how has it changed your life?

I just want to get a perspective from someone who has it rather then a the doctor that was kinda mean to me about it and never had it himself to understand my concerns.

Anyways, i pray that you are having a good weekend and i will place you into God's hands regarding your health and body.

You are always welcome to my page anytime.

With much Love -
Joy

OMGoodness! I didn't look at your bio before I wrote the note. Rita, I have had serious IBS problems for over a year now. Thought it was due to my HBP meds but, my Dr. switched them & the problems remain.

Most of the time I am doubled over in pain & never am without the big D! I saw Elisabeth H. on Huckabee last week talking about her book 'Living Gluten Free' & talking a bit about Celiac Disease. I went to Web MD and looked it up. I was in total shock! I have symptoms that I didn't even know were symptoms. Just suffered with them all!

I see a new gastro doc on Tues. I can't wait...can't live like this much longer!!! I also have osteoporosis, arthritis and degenerative disk disease. I had a 360 back fusion of my S1, L4, & L5 in 2000. I've never been the same since. Constant severe lower back pain. I am very 'weird' about taking my pain meds. Would rather be in pain than addicted to them! I am a 2 time cancer survivor and of course, am worried that could be the problem. I've stopped eating to lessen the pain. Lots of water though.

I pray that you are having more good days than bad right now! Isn't God amazing how he connects His children together! Would love to learn from you if I am in fact diagnosed with Celiac. I thank God for your being here on Living Whole~

Disa

Hello Rita,
Living Whole has a lot of different areas on it. It does take a little time to get used to, but trust me, you will and go ahead and navigate all around and click on any links. You won't hurt anything. :)
You can read under "frequently asked questions" and that might help, or ask anything specific of me or any others here. Also, the groups can be found off the main page.

So pleased to have you!

Hello Rita,
I'm thrilled that you have found your way to Living Whole and hope that you will really enjoy your time here. I'm also sorry to read the reasons why, but hope that you will feel some wellness and support through our little community as I do. I'd really like you to join Our Body: His Temple group with me if you would like as we discuss diet and taking care of our bodies. I don't have celiac but have many, many intolerances and am also gluten free in my diet. I'm sure we could all learn a lot from you and we try to support one another what ever individual nutritional needs we each have. Looking forward to getting to know you more!
In Friendship and Peace,
Jan Lyn

Hi Rita,

Welcome to Living Whole! This is a great group of caring people. I'm so glad you finally got the right diagnosis so you could go gluten free and feel better. I was diagnosed with gluten sensitivity and found that going gluten free helped me get rid of most of my migraine headaches and digestive problems. I've been gluten free for several years now. Its tough but worth the effort.
Blessings,
Patti

LEARNING TO ABIDE IN HIM

John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart [...]

DISTRACTED by Chronic Pain

1 Corinthians 1 Paul refers to Jesus Christ nine times in the first nine verses. We are correctly focused when we can say from the depths of our being, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21, ESV), and that our determined purpose in life is “that I may [...]
