More Words of Wisdom from Mom

As I have shared with yall before, my Mother sends me, from time to time, wonderful thoughts of hers I call momisms. I would like to share a few more of these with you!

Too often we are guilty of saying 'I am only human' to justify some human weakness. To say that, if you know the indwelling Christ, is to deny the power of the Divine that dwells within you. It is true that we have to deal with the old nature every day, but you can say 'Greater is He that is in me, than the old nature that is in… Continue

Pruning for Productivity

Jesus said, "I am the true vine, and my Father [God] is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."1

In preparation for his sermon about Jesus being the vine, and we the branches, Brett Blair shared the following: "I must admit that I know very little about the particulars of the wine industry. So I did some reading in this area and found it to be quite fascinating. Grape vines are ve… Continue

No Pain No Gain?

I am quite certain that most of you, like myself, have heard that statement often. I have always equted this statement with exercise. You know, the ache you get/got following an especially vigorous exercise? You dealt with it and even repeated this painful process because you knew the end result would be beautifully sculpted muscles!
Not giving much thought to this statement until recently I saw where someone had written, pain, no gain. This, naturally, got ne thinking of the 'right' way it is s… Continue

Letter From A Friend

I had to write to tell you how much I Love and care for you. Yesterday, I saw you walking and laughing with your friends; I hoped that soon you would want me to walk along with you, too. So I painted you a sunset to close your day a whispered a cool breeze to refresh you. I waited~~you never caled~~ I just kept on Loving you.

As I watched you fall asleep last night, I wanted so much to touch you, I spilled moonlight onto your face~~ trickling down your chheks as so many tears have. You did'nt e… Continue

Coca Cola's Worldwide Vision

"And then he [Jesus] told them, 'Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.'"1

If you've traveled much or little, or have seen movies shot in various parts of the world, inevitably you will see the Coca-Cola emblem just about anywhere you or the movie camera goes.

I'm not here to either praise or otherwise the benefits or otherwise of Coca-Cola but one thing I find fascinating about this company is that "at the end of World War II, Robert Woodruff, president of the Coca-Cola C… Continue

Thank you for stopping by & leaving me a message. You're so sweet to think of me. Today is better, but it's still high. I'm trying to find a way to set aside some time to relax, it's just hard with everything that's going on.
Thanks again!
Hugs,
Nancy :)

Oh Valerie, just missed you today - I could've said 'Hi' but that would have been the most! I was at work and my hours include a working lunch so I was just nipping into LW while eating :)
Anyhow when I came home I came online to check if I could catch you then - looked like I had only just missed you and Miriam - didn't look like I would've got much sense out of you!! (giggles)
I was hoping to ask how Tim's appointment went last week - I will check around though and see if you've written anywhere about it.
We are well and truly into winter here....temp about 45 deg.....lots of rain.... strong winds......dark evenings.....brrrr....winter.....
Anyhow, I'm all cosy, lamps are lit, heat is on, wearing fleecy jammies.......
what's wrong with winter? ... Linda x

LEARNING TO ABIDE IN HIM

John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart [...]

DISTRACTED by Chronic Pain

1 Corinthians 1 Paul refers to Jesus Christ nine times in the first nine verses. We are correctly focused when we can say from the depths of our being, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21, ESV), and that our determined purpose in life is “that I may [...]
