“What we are asked to do is to love; and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbor worthy if anything can. ~ thomas merton

This is the Welcome Table of our Redeemer,
and you are invited
Make no excuses, saying you cannot attend;
simply come, for around this table you will find your family.
Come not because you have to,
but because you need to.
Come not to prove you are saved,
but to seek the courage to follow wherever Christ leads.
Come not to speak but to listen,
not to hear what’s expected, but to be open to the ways the Spirit moves among you.
So be joyful, not somber, for this is the feast of the reign of God,
where the broken are molded into a Beloved Community,
and where the celebration over evil’s defeat has already begun.
~ from SING THE JOURNEY

For thou art making me, I think thee Sire.
What thou hast done and doest thou knowest well;
And I will help thee, gently in thy fire
I will lie burning; on they potter's wheel
I will whirl patient, though my brain should reel;
Thy grace shall be enough my grief to quell,
And growing strength perfect through weakness dire.

About You:
September 10, 2009 I feel like I am in TRANSITION right now and I am not exactly sure what that means, but I am fervently certain that my Father KNOWS what the plan is. And I know He is fulfilling HIS desires of my heart.

I'm a deep and passionate thinker who is most content when I am experiencing sincere relationships within a community system.

My most favorite times are when I am sitting quiet with the Lord on my back porch, reading a good book, and when sharing good food and drink with friends - even cooking good food FOR friends and having spirited conversation about seeking a deeper walk with God with.

I love being a mom and a grandma and love having family all together at my house for the holidays. I am looking forward to more of that as our family grows.

My best friend is Donald. Donald is my husband and he honestly is the most generously compassionate person I have ever known. He teaches me how to love others by the way he loves me. I am truly blessed among women. Donald is finishing his BA degree and then he and me will be off to Asbury Theological Seminary. I love that we get to share LIFE together!

JUST TWO WORDS

What a burden I thought I was to carry -
a crucifix, as did He.
But instead

After a night of prayer,
He
delighted my heart

Just these two words He spoke,
"Enjoy Me."

Once,
my Lord whispered in my ear.
"I know a song..."

He playfully inquired
"Would you like to hear it?"

And while I cried
He gently sang,
"Enjoy Me."

BOOK I'M READING RIGHT NOW:
In The Name OF Jesus
Henri Nauwen

MY FAVORITE QUOTE FOR THE MOMENT:
"It is Jesus who heals, not I; Jesus who speaks word of truth, not I; Jesus who is Lord, not I."
Henri Nauwen (In the Name of Jesus)

BIBLE VERSE I'M MEDITATING ON:
I am slowly reading through the PROVERBS. One a day. As well I am reading PSALM 119. Within them are my FAVORITE SCRIPTURES for today. I meditating on whatever verse is speaking to me in that day.

Sure i can help you make a music play list for the front page. We can talk about the music player after the weekend is over. I found this free software on the internet that allows me to take the music that i do have in my windows player and convert it to MP3 format which is the only format that the NING will take. I couldn't figure out why i couldn't get that NING music player to work for the longest time until my step dad and i put our heads together and solved it. And now it's all good to go. I can get almost every song you can think of with another program, so let me know any song and i can put it in there.

Oh and i'm so glad that you shared your thoughts and heart in my blog on periods of dryness. You came into that discussion at the most perfect timing. I just got another spiritual light bulb moment around 3 in the morning last night about how God needed me to see spiritual abandonment. I'm going to write it out later when i can put my thought out that make sense. Oh and thank you for the last email you sent, i read it once and i'm going to print it off to ponder on it some more. I'm interested in what else you are going to send regarding it.

I'm so glad that you are feeling better and able to come back. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I also wanted you to know that you are just one of the many God blessings that i'm so thankful for during this thankgiving holiday of looking back at all the blessing of this past year. I feel a Mighty God wind blowing in my life and bringing about good change and learning to waiting with joyful acceptance for it to unfold in His perfect timing.

Talk with you later - Much love - Joy

PS. what up with the word number count on the comment wall? I never saw that before. I am so use to writing novels on people's pages. I guess i'm going to have to learn how to edit LOLOLOLOL

Yay! So glad to see you back, Kimberly. You were truly missed so much here, I could just "feel it". I had hoped it was OK to take the initiative on the one new welcome, mentioning the community rules as no one able seemed to be around that particular time. Said a quick prayer and went for it.....
I do hope that you are strengthening now a little more day by day. Take good care of yourself and don't overdo things now.
Much love to you in Christ!

Just wanna say how good it was to see your sweet face around here last night - and to find a message. You have been missed and it's REAL good to have you back but I'm hoping you will take things easy. You know us though....we will want to know all that's been happening while you were gone :) and I hope that (in spite of flu) it has been a time of refreshing for you.
I really do look forward to catching up again. Tell Donald he has to hand over the computer again!!
Love and blessings Kimberly. Linda x

Praying for you.....

LEARNING TO ABIDE IN HIM

John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart [...]

DISTRACTED by Chronic Pain

1 Corinthians 1 Paul refers to Jesus Christ nine times in the first nine verses. We are correctly focused when we can say from the depths of our being, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21, ESV), and that our determined purpose in life is “that I may [...]
