Recently I was going through the day with my wife Susan, a day that was more difficult than most; lot of discomfort, pain, etc., couldn't get comfortable in any position. Then, in the midst of it all, I spoke from that Secret Place of The Most High, the Cleft in the Rock, that place where we abide with Christ, and I said "honey, I am the happiest I have ever been in my life." And it was absolutely true. I sort of shocked myself when I said it because I thought I sounded like I was crazy. To the…

There’s a saying that goes something like. . . .I wish God didn’t have so much faith in me. Meaning that He will give us the strength the weather everything that comes our way. I’m not sure I’m up to, or handling everything that’s coming my way very well.
I had a visit with my Fibromyalgia Dr. about a month ago, and at that time she told me my blood pressure was running too high at times, and I needed to monitor it. I have been, and it has been running very high.
At the same time, my husband D…

It seems strange to the natural mind but in recent years I have come to view my chronic pain from a twisted spine more as a friend than as an enemy. Some would say, a friend they could live without. Of course, who wouldn't rather live a pain-free life than one of continual suffering? But, as I journey down this road with my constant companion of pain I have begun to see the other side of suffering; the precious fruit that can come as a result of it. I see now how God faithfully sustains my every…

I pray, I give thanks and count. It’s another day aching in and I pull the covers up for a few more minutes. I don’t know any other way to combat this–the tears and fears that some times accompany chronic illness, that illness that will never ever go away. S-j-o-g-r-e-n-‘s. I actually have to spell…

If you set forth for the spititual lands that have been described in these first chapters, you must realize that times of dryness await you. It would be wise of us, then, to continue this subject for just a little while longer.
Dear reader, you must realize that God has only one desire. Certainly you can n…

I just wanted to share with my LW friends. I had the first meeting for my reading circle tonight. There were 5 of us there and everyone said that they enjoyed it and are glad we started it. I think that means it was successful. Since you know my love of reading, I am extremely pleased. Looking forward to future circle meetings. God is so good.

Getting God’s Help with Stress
by Joyce Meyer
Today it seems like everyone’s stressed.
Yes, it’s true that we’re built to withstand a certain amount of stress, and it can help us to become better problem solvers. But we shouldn’t be so stressed that we can’t handle our day-to-day life.
There’s only so much we can take.
For example, a chair is designed to bear a certain amount of weight. And if it’s used properly, it should last a very long time. But if it consistently bears more weight t…

The drugstore just called. My insurance company needs my Doctor to fax them my diagnosis and reasons why I must have the drugs he prescribed before they will pay for my medications. That means I must wait about 3-5 days while the insurance and Doctor's office fax forms back and forth. I really want to start feeling better. This is totally unacepptable to me. The insurance company is making me wait when I could be taking medicine and feeling better. Why do they get away with this? Why can't they…

Thank you Friends for thy continued prayers. I have just returned from the Dr's office and he called in two prescriptions to help my various low hormones (more than one yikes) and high blood sugar. I guess I am really too sweet of a guy. LOL. He ordered more blood work to measure another hormone called prolactin. I will be having regular blood work ups and appointments every 4 weeks until my levels get up to normal. I am expecting to feel better soon.
I am very grateful for the family of Christi…

Hello everyone,
Last night I was reading and studying the Word and in particular pain and suffering. I came across Psalm 69:29-30. It really spoke to me how in times of pain I should praise Him with song and glorify Him with thanksgiving. This is hard to do when I am suffering though a difficult time. But GHod is faithfull and His mercy endures forever. Amen!
Have a Blessed Day.

Hello Friends,
I just got a call from the lab about my bloodwork. My hormone levels are very low and my blood sugar is high. The Doctor wants to see me and I made an appointment for Tuesday. I know why I feel so lethargic now, and I hope that this can be treated so that I can feel better. I am so grateful for thy prayers on my behalf Friends.
Thy Friend in Christ,
John.

THE VOICE OF PAIN
Yes, it has a voice
Sometimes just a whisper
To let me know it's there -
A gentle, nudging reminder
That my body's not my own.
Yes, it has a voice
That I can hear so clear
Speaking through the darkness
As if to reinforce
That my body's not my own.
Yes, it has a…

Please forgive my absence on these graceful pages Friends.
I have been doing fine and have new challenges, but also a renewal of faith and determination in the spirit of Christ who strengthens me. Pain is becoming something I am used too. At times friends ask me how I feel and I think, I am used to the level of pain that I have and only notice a difference when it increases or decreases. Now I have some new discomfort. I go to the Doctor and sometimes I wonder if it is useful. I get no definite…

The organic teas that are in the LW Book store come in packages of 6 boxes. Great to order a couple and use for Christmas gifts. I am planning on making some baskets as gifts and I thought organic teas would be a good way to share something healthy. I will take a picture when I have them finished.
